Unlocking the Groove [Regina]





Carrie Gates has curated a gallery show of interventions, sonic and otherwise, in the vinyl and turntable arts, including sculpture and performance. One of the pieces in the exhibition is a Vinyl Interventions turntable performance featuring Carrie, Marinko Jareb and myself. The infos:

The Art Projects Gallery is proud to present "Unlocking the Groove: experiments in vinyl", a collection of artworks focusing on innovative artmaking techniques with the medium of vinyl records. The collection includes both visual and audio art, and spans painting, sculpture, installation, and experimental turntablism. Homemade locked groove records, intricately painted records, etched blank records, and sculpted records are just a few of the things you will see with this show... live concerts, radio documentaries, and no-holds-barred experimental turntablism are a few of the things you will hear... investigating the synaesthetic relationship between vision, tactility, and aurality, these conceptual, yet playful works will delight your senses!

The Art Projects Gallery is located at: 1217 - 15th Avenue, Regina. Gallery hours are 11am - 4pm, Monday to Friday, or by appointment. Admission is free, everyone is welcome!
